The Brazilian National Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA) is the foremost private institution that advocates on behalf of Brazilian farmers both domestically and internationally.

WHAT IS THE CNA/ SENAR/ ICNA SYSTEM

Throughout the years, CNA has become the private voice that represents farmers - from small to large-scale farmers. The CNA is tasked with advocating agriculture in debates in the National Congress, at entities and agencies in the Federal Government, before the Supreme Court, and in international negotiations.

The National Rural Learning Service (Senar) provides education, professional training, management and technical assistance and serves to improve the quality of life of more than 70 million farmers and rural workers in Brazil.

Founded in 1991, it combines agricultural activity with three facets of sustainability - economic, social and environmental. Senar promotes citizenship and generates income for people living in the countryside. In the academic sphere, the CNA School of Technology offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses online, on-site, and in the field.

As a further step in the CNA's mission, the CNA Institute (ICNA) conducts scientific studies and applied research on technological solutions that increase productivity in the field. Aligned with Senar's institutional framework, its federations have established the CNA system in all 26 states and in the Federal District, reaching almost all municipalities through rural unions.
