CANNED PALM HEARTS

Palm hearts are prepared from the edible part of healthy palm trees of species suitable for human consumption. Philá palm hearts are made from the Pupunha palm, a palm species that guarantees sustainability because it is easy to manage and the plants grow tillers.

The fibrous parts of the palm trees are removed by stripping off the bark, leaving only the soft part of the plant. After cutting, the hearts of palm are immersed in brine (water, salt and citric acid) and pasteurized (cooked in a water bath), in order to guarantee the product's stability for 2 years.

Acidification removes pathogenic microorganisms from the palm heart and pasteurization ensures that the glass jar is cooked and sealed airtight using a vacuum, thus ensuring sterility and maintaining the quality of the product. The secondary packaging is cardboard boxes with separate glass jars, which makes it easier to transport the palm hearts.

Cuts available at Philá: Torinha, Spaghetti,
Lasagna and risotto.

Philá palm hearts are covered in a light-flavored brine (water, salt and citric acid) that gives the product a pleasant taste.
