Cantaloupe Melon

In a region of great droughts, drip irrigation - with water from artesian wells (500 to 600m deep) - is the option chosen for the Mossoró Watermelon and Melon to grow without wasting water.

Yellow Melon
Also called yellow Spanish or common melon, this is the most consumed type in Brazil. It has a yellow, slightly rough rind and a greenish-white flesh.

Cantaloupe Melon
The cantaloupe melon has a lacy rind with many ribs; its flesh is salmon colored.

Galia Melon
The Galia melon has a yellowish rind with fine veins and white flesh.

Mossoró Watermelon with and without seeds
The two types are similar: green rind with spots, smooth texture, and reddish flesh. Its average weight is around 3kg.
