Lemon: Lemon production is worth around R$1.2 billion in Brazil and exports of the fruit bring in more than US$100 million a year - the fruit also accounts for 98% of Brazilian citrus shipments abroad. The lemon tree bears fruit approximately three years after the start of cultivation. Each harvest, it is possible to harvest 80 to 100 kilos of lemons per tree. São Paulo is the state that produces the most lemons in Brazil, with 1.10 million tons produced in 2019.

Ginger: The place with the largest production of ginger for export in Brazil is the mountainous region of Espírito Santo, where 95% of its production is the responsibility of family farmers. It is also produced in Santa Catarina, Paraná and the south of São Paulo. The rhizome contains various nutrients such as vitamin C, B vitamins, calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, phenolic compounds and an active substance called gingerol, which serves as an anti-inflammatory agent. Every year, Brazil exports approximately 10,000 tons of ginger, generating revenues of more than $10 million.
