AQUAFORT
Founded in 2001 by Ecuadorians, and becoming a Family Business in 2007.
Fattening farm located in the municipality of Camocim (Ceará) with 670 hectares for seedbeds, nurseries, and canals. It produces 2,100 tons of shrimp annually in sizes ranging from 9 to 20 grams. It employs 140 people and complies with all legal, environmental, and social norms in Brazil and in the consumer market.
Aquafort is developing the largest genetic improvement program of shrimp in Brazil, which aims to obtain strains of high hybrid vigor and wide genetic variability. It is conducted by the renowned geneticist João Rocha and the laboratory support of Embrapa Biotechnology and Genetic Resources.
