COOPERATIVA AGRICOLA MISTA DE TOMÉ-ACU
The Camta agricultural cooperative began in 1931, founded by Japanese immigrants who arrived here in 1929 to overcome the hardships of the forest. In the beginning, it started with the cultivation of vegetables, rice and cocoa. After World War II, extensive areas were planted with monocultures of black pepper.
From the 1970s onwards, with the decline of black pepper due to the fusarium disease, cultivation in agroforestry consortium systems (afs) emerged, which is very harmonious with the environment. We have an agribusiness to benefit the production of cooperative members and family farmers in the region.
