Yerba Mate

Yerba Mate (Ylex paraguariensis), plant native to the tropical forests of southern Brazil, the most famous tea in Latin America, ingredient of the traditional Chimarrão, Mate, Tereré. Yerba mate was discovered by the indians and its consumption remains a habit because it is an energy, stimulating and rich in antioxidants drink.

Our herbs are located in the best yerba mate producing region in the world. Located in the Serra da Boa Esperança in the state of Paraná, bordering Santa Catarina, the native plants are cultivated among the native trees protected by law. Our yerba mate is certified with Fair For Life, fair trade certification. This provides a sustainability practice in our production. The unique management in Brazil of shaded yerba mate where the new plantations coexist with the native forest. Herewith we get a differentiated and softer flavor, a mature mate herb with good nutrients and good presentation. Dark green color with good caffeine contents give a superior quality to our products.

DETAILS ON PRODUCTION CAPACITY, SEASONALITY AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Our production capacity is 3 thousand kg/hour. The seasonality of the crops, the intervals we need to suspend the crops precede the harsh winter with negative temperatures of 5ºC. Between the months of March and May the crops are suspended.
Harvest periods: May to February.
